Kristin Trutanich is a Trial Attorney with over 13 years of litigation experience. Prior to joining Brandmeyer, Gilligan and Dockstader, Ms. Trutanich was a Deputy District Attorney with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. As a Deputy District Attorney, she tried over 70 jury trials involving domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, gang violence and murder. At the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, she was assigned to the Victim Impact Program (VIP) where she prosecuted sexual assault cases, crimes against children and domestic violence murders. She was also assigned to the Hardcore Gang Division (HGD), where she was responsible for vertically prosecuting gang murders and attempted murders.
Ms. Trutanich received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a minor in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University, and obtained her Juris Doctorate from Whittier Law School.
Ms. Trutanich is a certified P.O.S.T. (Commission on Police Officer Standards and Training) and ICI (Robert Presley Institute of Criminal Investigation) Instructor. She frequently provides training to law enforcement and prosecutors in Los Angeles County and around the country in the areas of homicide law, the California gang enhancement, child physical abuse and human trafficking.
